What is Umrah?

Umrah is a voluntary pilgrimage to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah that can be performed at any time of the year. Though not obligatory like Hajj, Umrah is a deeply rewarding act of worship — an opportunity to draw closer to Allah, seek forgiveness, and experience the profound spiritual atmosphere of the two holiest sites on earth.

The journey includes Tawaf around the Kaaba, Sa'ee between Safa and Marwa, and time for personal supplication and recitation in Masjid Al-Haram. Many pilgrims also visit Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah to send salutations upon the Prophet ﷺ.
